Montessori Elementary

The Montessori Program at SMCC

Montessori learning consists of a unique method of study. Like the actual Montessori learning process, our students follow the same guidelines by working in small groups on a single-track (you will start and finish with the same group). In addition, you will learn through a hands-on approach in a self-directed classroom.

Lessons include:

  • Detailed overview of Montessori philosophy
  • Classroom management skills
  • Methods of creating an effective learning environment
  • Peace education

Our goal is to educate you on creating an environment that fosters a love of learning, effective learning, independent students and caring, responsible children.

Program Features:

  • Schedules are designed to accommodate working professionals
  • Earn 30 hours of college credit
  • Receive a 9-month internship in a compensated position
  • Work with experienced and certified instructors
  • Receive National Montessori certification (pending approval)

“Whoever touches the life of the child touches the most sensitive point of a whole, which has roots in the most distant past and climbs toward the infinite future.”
