Program Content

Overview

The Montessori classes will cover Practical Life, Sensorial, Language Arts, Mathematics, Art, Music, Movement, Science and Geography. The teacher candidates will also be educated in Child Development, Parent-Teacher Relationships, and Classroom Management. Montessori children learn by touching, seeing, smelling, tasting and exploring. Dr. Maria Montessori believed in providing meaningful experiences in a prepared, nurturing, multi-age classroom. The role of the adult is to prepare the environment and assist in the natural development of the child. The emphasis is on developing competent, caring and responsible children.

  • 21 Semester Hours of College Credit
  • Compensated Nine Month Internship
  • Independent Study Projects
  • Local Evaluation for National Certification

Completion of the program will result in National Montessori Certification.
