The Dynamic Learning Program has a unique approach. You become a "teacher" as well as a student. When you enroll in the four-semester Dynamic Learning Program you participate in a field placement / internship. This active approach, which immerses you in the classroom environment at participating local elementary and high schools, provides you with real life, hands on experience. You are assigned to a Mentor Teacher at one of these schools where you will observe, keep journals, plan lessons, tutor and even teach lessons in the class. The mentor teacher adds to your development by offering advice, information and evaluations on your field study experience. What makes this unique is that the internship is a part of the curriculum of the Dynamic Learning Program. This partnership between the elementary and junior high schools and the DLP prepares you for student teaching when you reach Arizona State University.
What Dynamic Learning students say about the program
"Learning goes both ways; students create and direct their own learning. We see the teachers as guides who help but don't dominate the class."
"It's a lot better. There is so much to do, I don't get bored. So I am interested. I learn something new every day. In other classes, I write my notes and the minute I walk out the door, it's like `what did we just talk about?' This class you don't forget."
“I learned more in one semester of Dynamic Learning than I learned in four semesters in high school.”
"I like how the classes are linked and relate to each other. After all, when you step outside the classroom door, the world is not separated into disciplines."
